I am a realist. I paint in casein tempera, watercolor, oil, and make artist books. I enjoy creating an autobiographical picture of my surroundings. It is a way for me to offer praise to the universe, as I often think of my paintings, and books as poems or gifts. By capturing the beauty of our woods and fields, I bring pleasure to myself and hope to provoke others to be reverent of this natural world. I fear for the loss of the beauty and uniqueness of our land; state forests, natural areas, farmlands and shorelines, through our greed and miscalculations. I preserve these scenes for myself and for those who appreciate them when they stop for a awhile.
